Our Journey

A history of our outreach and the lives we've touched.

2023: The Boston Disability Camp Outreach

Boston Outreach

In the summer of 2023, our team traveled to Boston to support a local camp for children with disabilities. We provided specialized educational tools and organized workshops that focused on inclusive learning. This trip was a turning point for GIHaSS, as it highlighted the need for specialized support in our educational programs.

The smiles on the children's faces as they engaged with new learning technologies were unforgettable. We were able to support over 100 families during this two-week journey, providing not just materials, but a sense of community and hope.

2024: Atlanta Literacy Initiative

Atlanta Literacy

Our 2024 journey took us to the heart of Atlanta, where we launched a massive literacy initiative. We partnered with local libraries to provide free books and tutoring sessions for elementary students. The goal was to combat the "summer slide" and ensure students were ready for the upcoming school year.

We distributed over 5,000 books and conducted 50+ tutoring sessions. The success of this program led to the establishment of our permanent after-school tutoring center in Marietta.

2025: Savannah Rural Support Program

Savannah Support

Last year, we focused on the rural communities around Savannah, GA. Many students in these areas lack basic school supplies and uniforms. Our team spent three weeks distributing "Back-to-School" kits and meeting with local educators to understand their unique challenges.

This journey reinforced our commitment to reaching every child, no matter how remote their location. We are now working on a mobile learning unit to provide ongoing support to these rural areas.
